If you have a Tumblr account, please spread this around! I want the entire Tumblr world to see this!

Here's the link --> [link]

Here's John K explaining this whole masterpiece! --> [link]

I was a clean-up artist, in-between animator, even a layout artist for characters and backgrounds! I cleaned up a lot of scenes and learned so much from this process!

I am so proud of everyone who was a part of this!

That was pretty dang amusing. It's nice to see John K. make more independent animation instead of complaining about the state of modern animation on his blog. That being said, I'm going to get a little nitpicky here.

The camera movements at times were pretty choppy, specifically the scene where Slab and Ernie are punching the nerd's gut. It just cut in and out of the scene sporadically. It didn't help much when scenes with character animation had the camera jerking around all over the place. Some of the tweens were haphazard as well. The scenes where the rat is..."walking" (or sliding) towards the nerd and the nerd jumping in excitement were distracting. I'm not sure if John K intended for it to look like that, but it's something that definitely caught my eye. I also noticed in the scene when the nerd puts the bag over his head, a couple of animator notes popped up on the screen (one when he was breathing with the bag on and another when the rat was crawling out of the sewer).

Since this was a group effort, I'm not blaming you for every detail I found wrong with the commercial. At the same time, I don't hate the commercial either. Working for John K. must be a honor and I'm positive everyone involved in production put tons of labor into this. It's a funny, enjoyable little cartoon and I'm just pointing out some details that I feel could make it even better. Just my two cents.

Thanks for the criticism. Yeah the camera has always been an issue in ToonBoom. We're still figuring that out and experimenting with ToonBoom. In time John will develop more techniques from ToonBoom and create another revolution, like what he did with Flash.

Just take a look at his early flash cartoons The Goddamn George Liquor cartoons and compare that with his Tenacious D cartoon "Classico". Such a huge difference after a lot of practice.

Oh yeah the notes... That was an accident.

We'll do better next time for sure~
